Paarl Boys’ High host Drostdy in a season finale that could potentially extend their winning run to 40 games.
Boishaai have, however, lost eight first-choice players to the SA Schools squad and will have to tap into their 2nd XV resources to shore up some experience in the 1st XV on Saturday.
Although Boishaai’s 2nd XV is also unbeaten this year, there is a window of opportunity for Drostdy to improve their win rate against fellow Western Cape schools after losing to Paarl Gym (52-0), Oakdale (26-13), Outeniqua (17-8) and Bishops (31-23) earlier in the year.
In this derby last year, Boishaai’s streak came under threat when they trailed at half-time, but they eventually ground out a 17-12 victory. Given the strength of their team this year, Drostdy might just go all the way against their hosts.
In another high-profile match, Rondebosch welcome SACS to determine who gets the bragging rights in this southern suburbs derby for 2016, following their 28-28 draw in May.
