Glenwood beat Osaka Toin High School 14-0 in their opening match at the Sanix World Youth Tournament.
It was the Green Machine’s seventh successive win this season.
In cold and wet conditions in Fukuoka in Japan, Glenwood opened the scoring with a converted try in the fifth minute through winger GJ Lubbe. Fullback Morné van Rensburg added the extras.
Glenwood scored a second converted try through inside centre Conen Le Fleur early in the second half and continued to keep their opponents scoreless.
There are 16 school teams taking part in the competition – eight from hosts Japan and eight from abroad.
Glenwood are representing South Africa at this year’s tournament, which they won back in 2008. Paul Roos won last year’s event.
