Glenwood High School in Durban have been invited to compete in the annual Sanix World Rugby Youth tournament.
It will be Glenwood’s third appearance at the 2016 tournament having previously participated in 2008, for the first time, and again in 2009. They won the tournament in 2008 and finished third the following year.
Participation is by invitation only and includes eight youth teams from Japan and eight from abroad. The teams from abroad are generally the schools champion from that specific country. But in the case of South Africa, where there is none, Saru extend the invitation from the Japan Rugby Football Union to a school team they deem worthy of representing the country.
The tournament takes place from 29 April to 5 May.
