Grey High scored four tries to beat Queen’s College 31-17 in Queenstown on Saturday.
Grey led 12-10 at half-time thanks to tries from inside centre Aya Oliphant and replacement fullback Damian Smuts, with flyhalf Lubs Dobela adding a conversion.
Queen’s scored two tries of their own through flanker Luyolo Dapula and fullback Aviwe Mancotywa, but neither were converted.
The visitors pulled away in the second half, with Dobela kicking a penalty goal and flanker Azola Mahonga and wing Uan Tait scoring two converted tries.
Queen’s could only manage one more try, by wing Asithandile Mahonga, which inside centre Chris Hollis converted.
In other matches in the Eastern Cape, St Benedict’s edged St Alban’s 34-33, Nico Malan beat Despatch 12-8, Dale College thumped De Vos Malan 53-0, Die Brandwag battled past Daniël Pienaar 17-12, Framesby saw off Grens 27-10, Kingswood claimed a 36-17 win against Union, and St Andrew’s secured a 23-7 victory over Graeme College.
Selborne’s match against Stirling was abandoned due to a waterlogged field.
