Hosts KES beat Pretoria Boys’ 20-8 in a tough encounter on Saturday.
KES led 15-8 at half-time before scoring the only points in the second half to secure the win and hand Pretoria Boys’ their sixth straight loss of the season.
KES opened the scoring after just three minutes through Kevin Mpeku. The winger then scored his second before No 8 Calvin Johnson grabbed their third. Pretoria Boys’ scored a try and a penalty goal to trail by seven points at the break.
The hosts then prevented Pretoria Boys’ from scoring after the break while scoring a fourth try through wing Mpho Khambule to record only their third win of the season. Pretoria Boys’ have yet to record a win in 2016.
In other matches in Gauteng, Nelspruit edged EG Jansen 31-29, Eldoraigne lost 21-17 to Rustenberg and Monument beat Garsfontein 29-11 in the Tuks Series.
