SACS scored five tries as they beat Bishops 38-19 on Saturday in South Africa’s oldest schools fixture.
Two converted tries saw the hosts lead 17-7 at half-time and another three in the second half sealed a third straight win over Bishops.
Centre Jordy Hop kicked five conversions as lock James Brewer, No 8 Alex Halverson, flank Liam Larkin, scrumhalf Lucky Dlepu and wing Michael Ravenscroft all crossed for the home side.
Hop opened the scoring for SACS with an early penalty goal. Bishops then took the lead in the 18th minute with a converted try.
The visitors held the lead for more than 10 minutes before SACS scored two quick converted tries to lead by 10 points at the break.
Bishops scored first in the second half, but the home side hit back almost immediately with their third converted try.
Bishops scored a third just minutes later, but SACS added two more converted tries before the final whistle.
In other matches in the Western Cape, hosts Boland Landbou battered Rondebosch Boys’ 48-15 having led 29-5 at the interval, while visitors Paarl Gym pummelled hosts Wynberg Boys’ 71-11 after leading 19-11 at the break.
