Boland Landbou have reached a season-high No 3 in the Western Cape Bestmed Schools Premier Division rankings.
Landbou, who moved into the top five two weeks ago after edging Stellenberg High in a one-point thriller, continued their impressive mid-season form with a famous 24-15 win against Paarl Gymnasium last week.
In the same round, Paarl Boys’ shut out Bishops 25-0 to remain top of the Western Cape and national rankings.
Boishaai haven’t lost in South Africa in three seasons and the 1st XV’s only defeat this year was in New Zealand against Christchurch Boys’ High (38-36) .
SACS, with only the one loss this year against Paul Roos, were surprisingly held to a 14-14 draw at Rondebosch Boys High.
Rondebosch have battled injury and had some big defeats all season, but the derby element again proved a leveller when SACS (ranked fourth in the country and second in the Bestmed Western Cape Schools Premier Division) were made to come from behind to fashion a draw.
Rondebsoch’s excellent effort against SACS means they move up a place to eighth, and Bishops moved one down to ninth.
Paul Roos moved above Paarl Gymnasium in the latest provincial rankings and Stellenberg were emphatic 47-5 winners against Wynberg Boys’ High.
There were no schools fixtures in the Western Cape this past weekend.
