Western Province beat the Blue Bulls 11-10 on day three of the U13 Craven Week at Paarl Gym.
The home side took the lead in the first minute as No 8 Aidin Januarie crossed for the opening try. Fullback Reece Montsumi missed the conversion, but kicked a penalty soon after.
The Bulls responded with a penalty from flyhalf Riaan Gerber to make it 8-3 at the break.
The Pretoria-based side took the lead for the first time 10 minutes into the second half when prop Kevin Locke scored a converted try.
However, Montsumi then slotted a second penalty to give Western Province a one-point lead with 11 minutes to play. And the hosts managed to hold on for the win to remain unbeaten after three games.
Meanwhile, KwaZulu-Natal scored two second-half tries to beat the Valke 15-14, centre Kurt de Swardt scored a hat-trick as the Golden Lions beat Boland 15-10, wing Lerato Manyana and centre David Liebenberg each scored a hat-trick to help the Griffons to a 47-17 victory over Eastern Province, and flyhalf Christo Nel scored a last-minute try as the Pumas edged Griquas 36-35 in a 11-try thriller.
WP and KZN are the only remaining unbeaten teams at the tournament. The final round of games to be played on Friday have yet to be determined.
