Fullback Gianni Lombard scored 26 points as Paarl Boys’ beat Waterkloof 51-5 at the Wildeklawer Super Schools Festival.
The No 1-ranked side in South Africa led 13-5 at the break before scoring six unanswered tries in the second half to hammer home the victory.
Lombard opened the scoring with a penalty goal in the 12th minute. He kicked another three minutes later to put Boishaai 6-0 in front. Winger Thaakir Abrahams scored the first try of the match in the 22nd minute, with Lombard adding the extras.
Waterkloof hit back before the break with a try through scrumhalf Giovan Snyman.
Abrahams scored his second try early in the second half. Boishaai then found another gear as Lombard (two), flank Francke Horn, eighthman Khanya Ncusane and centre Hanri van Heerden all added their names to the try-scorers list.
In other matches on Saturday, Grey College beat Garsfontein 31-13 to remain unbeaten in seven games this season. Affies hooker Schalk Erasmus and centre Lourits van der Schyff each scored a brace of tries as the Pretoria side beat Outeniqua 34-7.
Paarl Gym beat Menlopark 45-11 after leading 19-8 at half-time, while Paul Roos beat HTS Middelburg 31-12.
Festival hosts Diamantveld survived a late fightback from Boland Landbou to win 17-12, after leading 17-5 after 43 minutes.
