Grey College have replaced Paarl Gym as the No 1-ranked side in South Africa after their 31-19 victory against Gimmies at the Wildeklawer Super Schools Festival on Monday.
The Bloemfontein school rises three spots from fourth, while Gym’s first defeat of the season sees them drop to to third.
Meanwhile, Paarl Boys’ High secured two wins at the same festival, lifting them to second in the rankings, their highest position since the start of the year. Waterkloof and Paul Roos make up the rest of the top five.
KES, one of only three unbeaten sides in the top 20, climb to sixth at the expense of Drostdy and Glenwood, who are now ranked eighth and ninth respectively. Affies remain in seventh position, while Monument round off the top 10.
Grey PE are rewarded for their excellent form with a one-place jump to 11th, while Helpmekaar move from 18th to 12th. New additions Boland Landbou and Michaelhouse come in at 19th and 20th position, with Ben Vorster and Framesby losing their elite status for this week.
